You need to read this blog post.
If I left it at this statement – you need to read this blog post. I doubt the reader engagement will be high.
However if I continued to say, why you should read this you maybe more interested. The why question has been widely discussed in the coaching and personal development fields by coaches and speakers including Simon Sinek. The why question is the first aspect of successful engagement in learning (and in advertising). It tugs at your curiosity and leads you to want to know more. It is an important question. However, what if ‘why’ question should be swapped to the ‘how’ question.
Do you ever ask yourself ‘why’ a million times going deeper and deeper into the depths of an issue or problem only to find yourself still in the same position as before? No action has been taken. You are still as stuck. You have delved into the rabbit hole and could’ve come to any number of answers to the ‘why’ question. What if you accept that to some level there is a ‘why’ and yet dismiss the answer to the ‘why’ question and instead ask ‘how?’ For instance, ‘how can I move forward from this negativity?’, ‘how can I make a difference in this relationship?’ and ‘how can I resolve my health issues?’ you are likely to get more ACTION, more GO FORWARD and more POSITIVITY than the ‘why’ question alone.
Try it out on that area of life you are stuck in. Find an exciting outcome you want to move towards and start taking actions to move away from the stuckness and towards your bright future. It all starts with asking HOW?
Start asking better questions today!
Our trusted machinery from the television to the tiny parts on the car can fail, so can our most trusted businesses (you know the ‘sure bet’ investment ones) and likewise our lives and our health can fail, get stuck and out of alignment.
Have you ever heard the following terminology?
Car: Stuck in the mud, broken down, crashed….
Business: Entire board replaced, new CEO fails to make the changes needed….
Health: Polypharmacy (numerous medication use), overuse syndrome, chronic fatigue, man flu, PMS, binge drinking, binge eating….
What do all of these have in common?
Patterns and systems are failing and or malfunctioning and leading to signs and symptoms of destruction. For instance, the car is not moving, the company rapidly dropping on the stock market and the person displaying ill-health through pain, fatigue and or irritability.
Have you ever asked yourself “how important is my health?”, “can I manage without my car today?” or “what would happen if that company collapses?” Often we do not ask these questions, we dismiss, procrastinate and distract ourselves from the important BIG questions. So, perhaps now is the time to ask yourself, “am I stuck right now?”, “what specifically am I stuck in?” and “what am I going to do about it?”
Be curious, be wise and enjoy getting out of the mud!
In magnificent health,
